Hi I'm Danielle, and I'm running to be your city councilor for Ward 5 in Kitchener.

A few things about me:

  • I was born and raised in KW and now live in the Williamsburg area (Ward 5)

  • I am passionate about community building, solving local problems, and ecological conservation

  • I spent the last 5 years running a biotech company in Kitchener providing disease testing for fruit and vegetable farmers

  • I have deep roots in KW startup and innovation ecosystem, and was listed as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2023

  • I studied Microbiology at the University of Guelph

  • My hobbies include gardening, swing dancing, arts and crafts, and birdwatching

What I Will Do As Your Councilor

  • Represent the needs of Ward 5 at City Council and advocate for Ward 5 priorities to other levels of government

  • Compile and maintain up to date calendar of all local community events and activities

  • Host a monthly townhall for community members to discuss local issues, potential solutions, and action plans

  • Send out a bimonthly digital newsletter providing updates on upcoming events, recent council decisions, and local news stories

  • Help connect residents to local services and programs

  • Help connect residents to regional, provincial, or federal representatives for any issues that fall outside of municipal jurisdiction
